Explaining the world one sketch at a time.
Hello.
Thanks for finding us here on our brand new Podcast Series.
The 3 of us have been friends for over 20 years and have always enjoyed delving into all sorts of conversation topics - usually with some silliness along the way.
In this series we select one of the many sketches at Sketchplanations.com each week and discuss how it applies to our lives and the world around us.
We hope you enjoy listening in on our musings as much as we enjoy having them.
We hope that you learn something new or interesting.
And we hope that you'll come back to see what the full episodes are about.
Take care.
Go well.
Cheers,
Tom, Rob & Jono.

Rob Bell:
Hello, I'm Rob Bell, engineer and broadcaster. And along with two of my very good friends, Jono Hey and Tom Pellereau, I've started a podcast called Sketchplanations, The Podcast. Now, amongst many things, Jono is the creator of Sketchplanations, a project he's embarked on to describe the world one sketch at a time. And Tom, need we be reminded, is the apprentice winner from 2011. Lord Alan Sugar:
Tom, you're hired. Yeah, and he's still the business partner of Lord Alan Sugar. Here's a quick taste of what's to come in this new podcast series. Jono Hey: Sooner or later, the way that I think about it is everything that I know will be out there on Sketchplanations. Rob Bell: Oh, that's good. So in this podcast series, we're going to select a different sketch from the archive each episode and we're going to explore it a little deeper. How many do you reckon you've done? Jono Hey: 809? Rob Bell: Yeah. Tom Pellereau: You thought you were going to die basically every episode. Jono Hey: You know, I set out to like tidy my room or like, you know.
Rob Bell:
How old are you?
Jono Hey:
Yeah. Sorry. Tidy A room. Well, that's a bit of a mess in here. Tom Pellereau: It's a good point. Should we, should we, is it possible to shave a yak? Can we like find a website? Jono Hey: First of all, thank goodness that somebody's made a word for this phenomena. So now we can, we can easily call it out. Tom Pellereau: Can you see that? Rob Bell: Tommy, are you a fubber? Tom Pellereau: I am very happy to say I am highly addicted to my phone. Just like with sugar, with ice cream, because they're so addictive. Rob Bell: It's all sugar. Tom Pellereau: That you want to do. Jono Hey: He's addictive. Can't get enough of them. Tom Pellereau: What about an emergency biscuit? And then I literally only gave it about three seconds and they were all sort of silent. And I immediately went, oh, lead balloon. Let's move on to the next one. We did Bix Mix, one of the worst ideas I've ever been involved in. Rob Bell: Did you win that one? Tom Pellereau: No. Rob Bell: It is sometimes fun to just overanalyse stuff for the sake of it. And that is pretty much exactly what we're going to be doing on this podcast series. The first episode comes out next Thursday, the 4th of May, in which we discuss something called the Fun Scale. So don't you dare miss it. Tom Pellereau: But it did make a good story and it did completely change my life. Rob Bell: We'll be putting out new episodes discussing different topics based on a different sketch each week. So keep your eyes peeled for those. Or you could just pop along now to Spotify or Apple or YouTube or Amazon or wherever you get your podcasts from, and subscribe to the series so you'll never miss a beat. And I can pretty much guarantee you that you'll have learned something new or that you'll maybe think about things slightly differently after each episode. Thank you very much for listening. I hope you enjoy the podcast. Go well. Cheers.
For any new listeners, we thought it might be fun if we highlighted one favourite episode each. Guess who picked what...
